Laura Lynn Florio has always enjoyed tutoring. She began helping student athletes with their humanities papers while a grad student at Wake Forest University. After living in Florence, Italy, where she wrote historical pieces for a pastoral archive, she arrived in Pawleys Island. Born in North Carolina, I have enjoyed and called Myrtle Beach my home for over 20 years. My life here is enriched by my wonderful family and I am blessed with a loving spouse and two sons who are the light of my life.
The beach is my sanctuary and I love to soak in the sun and the waves. Reading is another passion of mine, offering me a chance to explore different worlds and ideas. Cooking is a creative outlet that allows me to bring joy to my family through delicious meals.
Family time is precious to me, and I cherish the moments we spend together, whether we’re having a quiet evening at home or a fun-filled day out. I enjoy our church community and the fellowship it brings. My life here is a blend of family, faith, and the simple joys of coastal living.
I am thrilled to be a part of the incredible team at Angwin Academy, working along side great tutors and the wonderful kids that are the heart of everything we do.

Tutor
Cristian Vagni
I grew up in Florence, Italy from age 3 to 9. Although English was my first spoken language, I learned to read and write in Italian while my mom taught me to read English at home. I grew up traveling and studied French all throughout school. My first job ever was tutoring French and Italian on campus at CCU. Everyone always told me I should be a teacher because I was so patient, but for some reason I kept fighting it. I ended up finishing school at Old Dominion University and majored in international business and minored in French. I went on working in business but once I had my daughter it was clear that I had a different idea for my work life balance. After making some life adjustments and moving back to Myrtle Beach, I found Angwin Academy by accident or fate, and it just clicked. I realized I love teaching children one-on-one or in small groups. I love giving them the confidence and courage they need from a young age.
